Paul Harney had a simple idea: what if the sweet, floral character of Dragon Pearl Jasmine met the savory depth of matcha? Dragon Matcha brings together three teas: hand-rolled jasmine pearls from Fujian Province, Japanese sencha, and shade-grown matcha from Uji, which dusts every pearl and leaf green. In the cup, the jasmine is sweet and floral, with vegetal sencha and the fresh, spinach-like notes of matcha underneath. The aroma mixes jasmine florals with a note of seaweed, and it steeps a cloudy medium green. It is a medium-bodied cup that brews in two to three minutes, like a classic green tea. If you already love our Dragon Pearl Jasmine, this is a natural next pot to try.
